BSNL partners with global tech leaders to advance India’s 5G, AI, and digital skills training, establishing multiple Centres of Excellence at BRBRAITT to boost telecom talent and innovation.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has entered into strategic partnerships with Ericsson India, Qualcomm Technologies, Cisco Systems, and Nokia Solutions and Networks India to launch advanced skilling programs in 5G, artificial intelligence, machine learning, networking, and other digital technologies at its apex training institute, Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training (BRBRAITT), Jabalpur.
Under its collaboration with Ericsson India, a 5G Centre of Excellence will be established at BRBRAITT, delivering hands-on training and online learning through the Ericsson Educate Program for over 2,000 students annually. BSNL will provide classroom facilities, while Ericsson contributes global-standard curriculum, trainers, and lab infrastructure.
Qualcomm Technologies will set up a Qualcomm Institute to provide advanced 5G and AI training for students, BSNL trainers, and government stakeholders. This will include premium content, live expert-led sessions, internships, and sponsored training for the first 100 participants in its inaugural year.

Through the partnership with Cisco Systems, the Cisco Networking Academy Program will be deployed nationwide, enhancing skills in networking, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure. Cisco will provide free curriculum and tools, while BSNL will oversee implementation across non-profit educational institutions.
Nokia Solutions and Networks India will establish a 5G Centre of Excellence and AI/ML Lab at BRBRAITT to train 300 students annually in 5G radio, core networks, and AI/ML applications. A joint Nokia–BRBRAITT certification program, supported by the Telecom Sector Skill Council, will further strengthen telecom industry readiness.
Industry analysts note that these initiatives align with India’s broader digital transformation agenda, enhancing the talent pipeline for next-generation telecom technologies. They also position BSNL as a key enabler of the Department of Telecommunications’ vision to develop a Telecom Innovation, Research, and Training Centre at BRBRAITT, aimed at fostering R&D, product innovation, and entrepreneurship. This collaboration supports the Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat missions, ensuring India remains competitive in the global telecom ecosystem while accelerating the deployment of advanced network infrastructure.
