Toyota Kirloskar Motor achieves record ₹5,672 Cr profit in FY25, with hybrid demand, exports, and expanded retail footprint driving India’s global importance.


Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), the Indian arm of Toyota Motor Corporation, recorded its most profitable year in FY25, posting a consolidated net profit of ₹5,672 crore, up 18.5% from ₹4,787 crore in FY24. The surge was driven by strong demand for hybrid models, expanded retail networks, and incremental volumes from Maruti Suzuki, marking India as a key growth hub for Toyota globally.

Revenue from operations grew 16.2% to ₹64,895 crore, while profit before tax rose 23% to ₹6,494 crore. The company’s dividend payout jumped sharply to ₹3,576 crore, over five times higher than FY24, reflecting robust cash flows and strong shareholder confidence.

TKM outperformed India’s sluggish passenger vehicle market with 28% volume growth, driven by models such as the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Rumion. Domestic sales reached 3,10,956 units, while exports surged 59% to 26,192 units, underscoring India’s increasing role as an export hub.

The company strengthened its market presence, achieving record UV and MPV market shares of 15% and 14%, respectively. Gross profit margins improved 40 basis points to 22.15%, aided by cost efficiencies and strategic portfolio mix. Operating profit per vehicle reached ₹2,29,393, nearly three times the market leader’s level.

Capacity expansion is underway with a new plant in Bidkin, Maharashtra, complementing the third facility in Bidadi, Karnataka, aiming to produce 4.42 lakh units annually by 2026. Retail touchpoints increased 34% to 773, while Lexus expanded to 26 exclusive outlets, strengthening premium market reach.

Hybrid adoption accelerated, with TKM maintaining a leading share in India’s hybrid passenger vehicle market. The company’s strategic approach positions it for continued growth across hybrids, flex-fuel vehicles, and the upcoming Urban Cruiser EV, supporting Toyota’s multi-pathway mobility strategy in India.
