BIGBLOC Construction Limited reported mixed Q4 and FY25 results, highlighting sector challenges in Maharashtra and Gujarat, expansion of manufacturing capacity, and sustainability efforts.
India-based BIGBLOC Construction Limited, a leading manufacturer of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) blocks and building materials headquartered in Maharashtra, has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year ending March 31, 2025. The company is recognized for its expansive manufacturing capacity and focus on sustainable building solutions.
On June 3, 2025, BIGBLOC shared the transcript of its earnings call held on May 30, 2025, highlighting a mixed financial performance amid challenging market conditions in India’s construction sector, particularly in key states such as Maharashtra and Gujarat.
For Q4 FY25, BIGBLOC posted consolidated revenue from operations of Rs. 646 million, marking a sequential growth of 13.7%. Sales volume improved by 12.8% to 175,464 cubic meters during the quarter. EBITDA stood at Rs. 57 million with an 8.9% margin, while profit after tax was marginally negative at Rs. 3 million.
The full year revenue declined by 7.6% to Rs. 2,246 million due to delayed infrastructure projects linked to the general elections and prolonged monsoon seasons disrupting site activities and logistics. Capital utilization was impacted by plant shutdowns and upgrades at the Umargaon facility in Maharashtra, where technology improvements commenced trial operations in October 2024 and are expected to boost long-term efficiency.
Strategically, BIGBLOC expanded its capacity at the Wada facility, increasing annual manufacturing capacity to 1.3 million cubic meters, positioning it among India’s largest AAC block producers. Additionally, the company’s joint venture with Siam Cement launched the country’s first AAC wall panel plant in Gujarat, securing major orders from Tata Projects for semiconductor unit constructions.
BIGBLOC is also diversifying into construction chemicals manufacturing at Umargaon and has installed solar power capacity meeting 20-25% of its energy needs, aligning with its sustainability goals. Expansion plans include a new manufacturing unit in Madhya Pradesh by its subsidiary Star Bigbloc Building Material Limited.
Looking ahead to FY26, BIGBLOC anticipates leveraging the expected recovery in the construction sector and the operational ramp-up of upgraded facilities.
