Bajaj Finance Ltd, a key subsidiary of the Bajaj Group and one of India’s top non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, witnessed a 4% rise in its share price in early trading on June 9, 2025. The spike follows the company’s announcement of the record date for a 1:2 stock split and a 4:1 bonus issue.
At 10:40 am on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), shares of Bajaj Finance were trading at ₹9,739, up from the previous close of ₹9,371.50. The gain reflects investor optimism after the company confirmed June 16, 2025 as the record date for the corporate actions.
According to a stock exchange filing on June 6, Bajaj Finance stated,
We wish to inform you that the Company has fixed Monday, 16 June 2025 as the ‘Record Date’ for the purpose of determining the members eligible for the sub-division of existing equity shares and issue of bonus equity shares of the Company.”
As per the approved resolution dated April 29, 2025, the stock will undergo a sub-division where each share of ₹2 face value will be split into two shares of ₹1 each. Additionally, the board declared a bonus share issue in the ratio of 4:1, offering four fully paid-up equity shares for every one held, each having a face value of ₹1.
The company also declared a final dividend of ₹44 per share (2,200%) on the ₹2 face value for the fiscal year 2024–25. The record date for the dividend was May 30.
Bajaj Finance posted strong financial results for Q4 FY25, with a 19% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹4,545.6 crore. However, the net interest income (NII) at ₹9,807.1 crore slightly missed the expected ₹9,880.9 crore. Its Assets Under Management (AUM) rose 26% YoY, reaching ₹4.17 lakh crore as of March 31, 2025, reflecting robust credit demand.
