India-based AI edtech platform Arivihan has raised $4.17 million in a Pre-Series A round led by major venture capital firms. The funding will enable the startup to expand its operations into new regions, deepen AI R&D, and further scale its affordable, personalized education model across underserved markets.

India’s AI-powered edtech startup Arivihan, headquartered in Bengaluru, has raised $4.17 million in a Pre-Series A funding round to expand its footprint in India’s growing education technology space. The capital infusion comes amid a wave of investor interest in scalable, AI-led learning solutions, particularly those focused on affordability and rural access.

Founded in 2024 by IIT Roorkee alumni Ritesh Singh Chandel and Sonu Kumar, along with experienced math educator Rushabh Kothari, Arivihan claims to be India’s first fully automated AI tutoring platform. The platform integrates adaptive video lectures, instant doubt resolution, and AI-generated study plans—offering a teacher-less, scalable, and cost-efficient alternative to traditional coaching systems.

According to company statements, the funds will support Arivihan’s expansion into three new Indian states, bolster its AI research initiatives—particularly in multi-language support—and amplify its grassroots marketing and distribution infrastructure. The company also intends to strengthen its academic team, especially by onboarding NEET faculty, and increase hiring across product, engineering, and marketing roles.

Unlike conventional edtech models that rely heavily on live instruction, Arivihan is engineered for scale. Its AI-first approach minimizes operational costs while maximizing personalized engagement. The startup reports that 80% of its user base hails from Tier 3 cities and rural regions, with students showing an average 42% improvement in academic performance within the first 30 days of onboarding. Over 150 students achieved scores above 90% in their Class 12 exams, and four ranked among the Top 10 in their respective state boards.

Our model addresses the fundamental limitations of India’s existing education infrastructure, With over 250 million students across India, traditional coaching cannot scale to serve them all. Arivihan’s AI-driven platform enables us to democratize access to high-quality, personalized education across Real Bharat.”

From a financial lens, Arivihan’s model appears well-positioned to benefit from the macro shift towards GenAI applications in education. The ability to deliver high-quality instruction without a proportional increase in faculty costs gives the company a potential edge in a highly price-sensitive market. As scalability remains a critical factor in edtech success, Arivihan’s tech-driven operating model offers unit economics that could outpace traditional players, particularly in untapped geographies.

This latest funding milestone follows an earlier seed round of $750,000. With the additional capital, Arivihan aims to deepen its educational impact while maintaining financial discipline and execution focus in a sector that has seen volatile investor sentiment in recent years.

As India’s digital transformation accelerates, platforms like Arivihan that blend technological innovation with inclusive outreach are likely to define the next growth chapter of the country’s edtech sector.
