Reliance’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Rise, and Danish esports company BLAST Esports have formed a joint venture to develop India’s esports sector. This collaboration aims to enhance tournament management, marketing, and media production while leveraging Jio’s technology and distribution.
Reliance’s Rise, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has partnered with BLAST Esports, a Denmark-based esports company known for organizing world-class gaming tournaments, to develop India’s esports sector. This collaboration will establish a joint venture focused on tournament management, media production, and marketing while utilizing Jio’s technology and distribution networks.
The joint venture will cater to the complete esports ecosystem, offering services such as publisher and sponsor support, event organization, targeted marketing, and high-quality broadcasting. The initiative aims to leverage BLAST’s global expertise in esports event management and Jio’s digital infrastructure to enhance the competitive gaming landscape in India.
Esports has been gaining global recognition, with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) planning an annual series and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) incorporating esports into the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.
