Roblox Corporation, the California, USA-based online gaming and game creation platform, has appointed former Paramount CFO Naveen Chopra as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective June 30, 2025. Chopra brings over 25 years of leadership experience in technology and media and is set to succeed Michael Guthrie.
Roblox Corporation, a leading online platform for gaming and digital experiences, has named Naveen Chopra as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective June 30, 2025. Headquartered in San Mateo, California, Roblox enables users to create and share immersive virtual experiences, attracting millions of daily active users globally.
Chopra will succeed Michael Guthrie, who announced his decision to step down in 2024. Guthrie will continue to assist as a consultant to ensure a seamless leadership transition.
In his new role, Chopra will oversee all financial operations at Roblox, including accounting, internal audit, tax and treasury, investor relations, business operations, and financial planning and analysis.
Chopra brings over 25 years of experience in strategic and financial leadership. Most recently, he served as CFO at Paramount Global, where he led efforts to transform the business from traditional media to streaming. Under his leadership, Paramount exited the Indian market by selling its stake in the Viacom18 joint venture to TV18, a Reliance Industries subsidiary.
His career also includes senior roles at Amazon, where he was CFO of the Devices and Services business unit and drove monetization for products like Alexa and Kindle. Chopra also held key executive roles at TiVo and Pandora, and currently serves on the board of Macy’s Inc..

Chopra, an alumnus of Stanford University with degrees in Computer Science, Economics, and an MBA, expressed enthusiasm about joining Roblox, calling it “a unique opportunity to combine my passion for revolutionary consumer entertainment with my experience in technology and media.”
