Google launches its official Pixel devices online store in India, offering direct sales, UPI payments, no-cost EMI, device exchange, and service support to boost its retail presence.
Google, the American multinational technology company known for its search engine, software, and hardware products, has launched its official online store in India to sell Pixel devices directly to consumers. This marks a significant move by the tech giant to strengthen its foothold in India, the world’s second largest smartphone market, and expand its presence in the rapidly growing e-commerce sector.
Previously, Google sold its Pixel smartphones through third-party platforms such as Flipkart and retail chains like Croma (part of the Tata Group) and Reliance Digital. The newly launched Google Store offers a complete range of Pixel products, including Pixel 9, Pixel 9a, Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphones, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Buds Pro 2.
Mitul Shah, Managing Director of Devices and Services at Google India, emphasized the unique features of the store designed specifically for Indian consumers. These include UPI payment support, no-cost EMI options with over 15 partner banks like HDFC Bank, and a device exchange program in partnership with Cashify. Google Store deliveries will be handled by Blue Dart, covering more than 12,600 PIN codes with an expected delivery time of 24 to 48 hours.
The online store also offers comprehensive service support, enabling customers to initiate repair requests and schedule pickups directly from the website. Google is also reportedly planning to open physical retail stores in India, which would be its first outside the United States.
Google’s expansion comes as the company looks to capitalize on growing demand for premium smartphones in India. While Google Pixel holds about 1% of the premium smartphone market share, experts from Counterpoint Research believe the direct-to-consumer store will help increase this share by boosting visibility and accessibility.
Currently, Pixel devices are available in over 2,000 stores across India, including major retail partners like Vijay Sales, Bajaj Electronics, Poorvika, and Sangeetha, with around 250 stores providing hands-on product experience.
